REGIONAL PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT INITIATIVE 

Love, Care and Protection – from Infancy to Adolescence.

September 1-3, 2015 in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

The theme of the forum will be Love, Care and Protection – from infancy to adolescence.  Psychosocial support (PSS) interventions focus on prevention of harm and promotion of wellbeing. They offer effective approaches to address some of the key needs of the different populations such as children, adolescents, youth and adults. As the individual develops through these different life stages the pressures that impinge upon their development differ. PSS interventions that are being provided for these groups thus differ as they respond to these needs.

The forum will share research and practice based evidence that shows the major successes that have been realised in the provision of PSS for these groups. More importantly the meeting will share lessons that have been learnt in the implementation of these interventions.  The meeting will also discuss emerging trends in PSS interventions for these different groups with the aim of improving the PSS wellbeing of these populations in Africa.
