At this seminar the Center for Social Development in Africa (CSDA) will share the results of an intervention study which evaluated the Sihleng’imizi Family Programme. This programme was designed to strengthen families as a protective measure for disadvantaged children, which is anticipated to lead to better child well-being outcomes. The programme targets families who receive one or more Child Support Grants, in order to complement and scale up the positive benefits of the CSG in South Africa. The results show that families who attended this 14 week group programme experienced positive outcomes in the short term in four of the five programme dimensions.
