  • This practical guide for service providers working with children in Malawi is designed to improve psychosocial support services (PSS) to orphans and other vulnerable children by bringing together available knowledge and experiences in a user-friendly manner. The publication presents strategies and tools in the PSS service area in Malawi. According to the publishers, it is hoped that this Source Book will stimulate dialogue on the issue and help to develop a culture among service providers of documenting and sharing best practices.

  • The methods used in this study included literature review and key informant interviews. “Community engagement” was defined broadly to include participation, mobilization and empowerment, while excluding activities that involve communities solely as the recipients of information or services.
